I have done that too, the only way I can get it to spark is by having them plugged into separate power strips
I also had the issue at home, there is no wire pinched man and the pc is running fine

I just took the entire build apart, no pinched wires no faulty wires everything is...
I did that, and there is nothing on either machine touching anything there shouldn't be. Both quality power supplies and modular, nothing more is plugged in then what needs to be, and all stand offs...
I had on a static band from ifixit and was touching the metal chassis, static is easily and quickly discharged. This was a live current and was easily recreate-able I understand what you was saying...
