I did find a solution by creating a registry hack that is solid and does maintain my picture on the desktop....
desktop background... I will try Wally again on your recommendation. All I get now is black desktop (my chosen "color". If I put on an image, it reverts to black in one minute
Tried both apps, nothing works. Am using a local account. My current theory is that Microsoft punishes folks who use a local account.
