On one of my machines, running the latest version of W 10, Windows Defender keeps telling that a quick scan is due......however the scan is anything but quick, the last scan was running for well...
Thank You......all good now.....
Well, it is now working.....apparently the "mail and calendar app" was out of date ?.......have now re-set it, and everything is fine.......

Yes, it works on Edge, but the icon on the taskbar is greyed out........all settings seem to be correct.....unless I'm missing something ?
Since re-installing W10 on this second laptop, and upgrading from 32 bit to 64 bit, I cannot get Gmail, or any Email for that matter, to work.......attempting to add it brings up the error...

Thanks.......strangely I've just checked one of my other machines, same spec. same settings, and KB5001716 installed today, 7. 2. 24.......weird or what ?
Thanks for that......so it's not just me then.......
Just re-installed W10, 32 bit on one of the Toshiba Satellite's, from a USB flash drive, running the latest version of Windows......all is good, EXCEPT I can't get an update to install.......it's...

The only security I have installed is Windows Defender, and I run Glary Utilities (free version) on ALL of the laptops......
Thanks for the replies......I can't seem to find any issues with W10, or Edge itself........everything is up to date......maybe it is an issue with Ancestry itself......but why on just the one...
Bit of a strange one this.......Four of my laptops, all running the latest version of W10, have Ancestry. uk installed on them......three of them work fine, with the Edge browser, the fourth will...

.......That would be good thanks.....I'm away from the laptop until tomorrow now though.....
Mmmhhh.... might be best to leave well alone I think.....the object of the question was to stop it asking which volume to use, at start up, and have done that......
Mmmhhh.......will try, but probably beyond my limited capabilities......I am self taught, but didn't have a very good teacher !!......anyway it looks like no harm done, many thanks for the...
