Couple of notes:
--Microsoft did this one time before when they released Windows 8.1. Windows 8.0 and Windows 8.1 are completely different builds and are unrelated to each other, just like the...
Here are other reasons:
--Edge is nearly unmanageable by enterprise. Only recently was the ability added to set a default homepage, and you still can't set a homepage as a locked policy. There are...
I take it there is no Group Policy for this yet?
Yeah, the removable-drive behavior is absolute garbage. I despise that they show up twice. I hate it so much.
Oh, and there are two totally unnecessary libraries that can't be permanently...
From what I can tell, Sysprep is still supported by Microsoft but CopyProfile is not. It has been replaced with ICD. This tutorial is deprecated and probably shouldn't be followed, anymore.
Nice. Thanks!
It's in CC\Windows Components\Cloud Content.
That doesn't seem to work. From what I can tell, the registry key you mentioned corresponds to "Disable help tips," not "Do not show Windows Tips."
There is also a Group Policy for all users:
"Do not show Windows Tips"
Any ideas how to set that using the registry?
This is probably why Microsoft is trying to force updates. They knew Windows 10 would be broken, so the only way to compel people to do build upgrades would be forcing them to do so.
I don't think that's the issue because I've seen people post broken icons that do work on mine. Not to mention I have Windows 95 software where the icon works just fine.
There is just a bug in...
I agree. Despite what some people on this forum think, CopyProfile does seem to cause a lot of issues.
Please reconsider what? Check yourself if you don't believe me.
Except this isn't true. An update applies very differently from an upgrade. They are not even comparable.
The one and only thing that they have in common is that both can come through Windows...
I'd be shocked if any Westerners are even in charge at Microsoft anymore, to be honest. Look at all the top brass now. Look at Microsoft's support forums. Probably why they have so many...
This isn't completely true. While it's true that the more an installation has been used, the more difficulty the upgrade process will have at getting the upgrade "right," there are severe...
I think you're right on the money.
It's easier for Microsoft to basically crap out a new build of Windows with all their changes in one package than make the changes with an update. On paper, it...
Okay, I won't be replying to you after this because it's obvious that you've decided to think what you want, regardless of whether it's right or wrong. This will be my last reply.

Yeah, even hardware made in November 2015 will have Windows 7 drivers.
I think the discrepancy is the OEM. For example, an OEM like Dell may not provide Windows 7 drivers on its Web site, but if...
No offense, but you have no clue what you're talking about
New versions are new builds, and new builds are new versions. There is no difference.
The public has gotten only one new build since...
Here's one caveat: the driver itself can be compatible without its installer being compatible. In other words, the actual INF files may work just fine in Windows 7. However, the installer for the...
According to Microsoft, there will be at least two upgrades per year and preferably three or four.
Upgrades to the general public are literally new builds, just like the Insider builds are. Not...
The really bad part: because of the way Microsoft now insists of upgrading to new builds every 3 to 5 months, we're going to go through this every 3 to 5 months from now until eternity. These issues...
The problem is that businesses CAN'T have these sort of bugs every few months. It's one thing for a home user to be inconvenienced. It's another for businesses to have 2500 computers with an issue...
