Not sure if this will help but I right clicked on the Start button and clicked on Device Manager and ran the auto update on everything even though there weren't any yellow flags and it did update one...

Sounds like somethings running in the background. Check to see if any devices are plugged in , printer, camera, usb flash drive... and see if removing them helps resolve the issue.
