I disagree. Microsoft still recommends running .NET updates prior to running EMET in 5.5.
It specifically suggests it in the latest installer.

I use Bit Defender, but that is just part of my security plan which also includes patch management, web protection and cloud backup. It is a paid managed security subscription.
