Thanks. I must have rebooted a dozen times today. I have looked at services and tasks and can't identify any other installer.
Trying to update a cc product gets stuck and won't even cancel. Adobe say it's because 'another installer is running'. When I told them Windows installer was NOT running they jumped out and said it...
Strange to say it has now stopped. I ran CCleaner and since it does not appear. It was a file open dialogue not program run. I have a picture but can't post it on my phone. Will come back if it...
Since the fall update I am greeted with a choice dialog at start up. It doesn't say what it wants to open but lists a dozen programs. I tried a browser but all it said before loads of code was that...
Sadly that didn't work. The registry fix reported it had success in loading but the close down still took >10 mins. (Twice) during this time the hard disk is working hard with the light constant not...
I'll try the registry fix. I take it that's a text file I can create in notepad. ( Not too experienced at that stuff...)
Thanks. I ran the paid for malaware bytes anti malware premium updated version and I have paid for Kaspersky internet security. Neither report a problem.
Hi
Suddenly over the last week my PC has gone from closing almost instantly to taking 10 to 15 minutes to shut down. Everything else is normal : boot is fast and all programs are running normally....
Well I managed to reinstall Calendar/Mail but it still will not run...
Well that worked in the sense that the apps have gone but now when I try to reinstall them all I get is a "we encountered a problem please try later"...
I have a new computer that came with W10 installed. Now one week on the above apps fo not launch. I have run System file Checker that reported it had found and repaired corrupt files (already!!)....
I think I might well be back. Big jump from 7 to 10 for me...
Odd and embarrassing! I just re booted again (third time) and, hey presto! the arrows have gone...
Yes. Rebooted but might try the regedit route. Puzzled as to why it didn't work though...

I would like this to work but I have tried the option one method and the pesky arrows are
still there...
