Version 6.0.1.8251 has been released on the Microsoft Update Catalog, although as I post this it's 64-bit only and the "company" field says Samsung Electronics instead of Realtek like most of the...
I agree with everyone else that build 8176 is the best sounding version yet.
As a side note, I don't know if this feature was added with a recent Realtek driver update or was part of a Windows...
Thanks! Initially there was only the Anniversary Update version, but now I'll switch to the Creators Update. I wonder what the difference is.
EDIT: Scratch that. Device Manager...

Thanks, Rock86!
32-bit and 64-bit versions of 8110 are also available on the Microsoft Update Catalog as well.
Version 6.0.1.8085 was just released on the MUC as well: http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=6.0.1.8085
This is a SST version, but I have no idea what that means. The drivers...
I've been keeping my audio driver up-to-date with the latest versions of these from the MUC for the last year or so, but I've never been able to hear any difference or notice any software additions...
Version 6.0.1.8051 has been released on the Microsoft Update Catalog.
Note that as I write this only 64-bit versions are available.
Version 6.0.1.8045 has been released in the Microsoft Update Catalog :)
Sound quality seems great so far.
Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on what Realtek is releasing. For those of us that prefer to download from the MUC, version 6.0.1.7738 has been released on the Microsoft Update Catalog.
I've...
Also in the Microsoft Update Catalog for those that are interested.
Thank you. Just that quickly 6.0.1.7730 was released on the Microsoft Update Catalog.
I have never seen hardware drivers be released so frequently! Does anyone know why Realtek seems to be...
Thanks. When I looked a couple days ago, only the 64-bit SST version was listed.
Brink, 6.0.1.7727 is now also available from the Microsoft Update Catalog (all three versions). :)
I uninstalled Avast and switched to Windows Defender for the time being. Unfortunately that did not cure the weird HDD activity. You can clearly see the spikes every couple of seconds in this...
I don't know how to tell if your card has SST or not and I have no idea if my Intel HD on-board audio has SST either, however I installed the driver I linked to from the MUC and it works perfectly.
Is this the screen you think would be more helpful?

It looks to me that an Avast Anti-Virus related process could be the cost for the weird disk activity.
EDIT: Actually this next...

Version 6.0.1.7724 has been released through the Microsoft Update Catalog.
It's interesting that this time around there is no 32-bit version, and the only download available mentions SST, which...
I have power options set to never turn the hard disk off. So far the drive hasn't been shutting off, but the constant activity has continued.
This is my task manager processes sorted by most disk...
The last week or so my laptop has had a lot of unusual disk activity. It used to be behave such that unless there was a background scan running or an app was actively being loaded, the hard drive...
If you click the link in my post, it takes you directly to the latest version. There will be two options, the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions. It includes the HD Audio Manager that you mentioned you...
Instead, I would download drivers mentioned in the sticky at the top of this sections.
Specifically, the latest version from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
That's exactly the information I was looking for! Thank you, MoxieMomma.
One of the reasons I thought MBAM could be an AV solution is that on this site a lot of people list that under the AV...
For real-time protection, I have used the free version of Avast AV for several years. I was thinking about finally switching to a "better" paid solution such as MBAM Premium. However, I often read...
Thank you for the explanation.
Yes, it runs very well. No noticeable difference from the Acer sourced driver, but at least it's running Intel's latest now. The only downside is the Intel Driver...
