Spotlight is a fine example of shoddy software engineering.
100% agree too
That's not a great plan since that software is deprecated. I've found Reflect very reliable.
How did you prove Windows 10 is faster?
I upgraded a 10 year old non-complaint PC last week as follows:
Download the latest Windows 11 ISO file and mount it as a virtual drive
Turn off net access
Run setup.exe
On the first...
Oddly I have no problems installing or using Windows 11 on multiple PCs
The software design of the bug prone Spotlight functionality is dire. I use the Dynamic Theme app to avoid most of the issues.
I noticed this problem last week no thanks to Microsoft's shoddy software QA. The above fix works.
My previous desktop PC had boot problems when the CMOS battery voltage dropped much below 3V yet the BIOS date was correct. Replace the CMOS battery which should be c. 3.2V open circuit for a new...
My desktop PC has an Intel Core i7 13700K Raptor Lake CPU so seems to be affected. Why isn't this fix installed automatically via Windows Update if so important?
Should we all rush to install this for Intel CPUs?

I always use the portable version too where possible - sometimes hard to find!
Implemented using an Artificial Idiot or an algorithm?
To restore a selected file / folder just mount the partition containing the data as a virtual drive and copy across the folder needed.
Did you try inserting the shortcut to Bluemail in folder C:\Users\{myname}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Did you try using Macrium Reflect Free to make the cloned drive?
You could run Wise Disk Cleaner to see what 'rubbish' it finds to delete which may be taking up that huge amount of space but take care what you permit it to delete.
Weird fault?
I prefer to use imaging rather than cloning. Make a backup image of the existing HDD (all partitions) to an external drive, install the new SSD then restore all partitions from the image to the new...
I just upgraded my 'non-compliant' 2014 Dell Inspiron 7537 laptop to Windows 11 using the appraiserres.dll fix. All works fine except I had to find a later Intel HD graphics driver to satisfy the...
