I recently encountered this problem when I added my wife's account to my computer as a standard user (non-administrator account).
It was because the overlay icon was located in my document folder...
Thank you!!
Just found this fix today and all those pesky broker related warnings are now gone!
I've seen these for so long...
BTW, I'm running 1903 build 18326.207
Thanks so much!!!!!
That was before layout cleanup, of course!
Most of those are fans and RGB connectors.
I think I know the reason. I had Updates paused because of all the mess and yesterday I heard that things were OK with the Tuesday Patches. Moreover, the fixes were for some audio stuff I used. So I...

My app store libraries says I purchased it yesterday.
I don't remember doing any such thing.

Yesterday this new app just appeared and installed itself.
It's called Roblox.
I had never heard of it before, but I see it is some sort of gaming app.
I don't have any games on my system and I...
I'm not sure I understand. I followed what you said, but I don't see how the name, rename or moving fit in.
Creating on the desktop is rather unique because the Desktop is the top of the bags...
Grrrrr....
After I made a new folder on the desktop and moved it to my documents folder, I lost a whole lot of unrelated folder views:
The Program files view changed, some other Document folder...
I think I found the problem - or another one.
The 'New Folder' feature always seems to make a non-generic, special folder view.
As I frequently start with that and then move it to other places,...
I meant to self-refer to my post, but you just improved on the observation!
And I continue the marathon towards madness.
Brink - 'tag', you're 'it'!:)
A 'dektop.ini' file setting would be a great place to put a true, path-independent (single) folder view.
But Libraries are multi-views and their parent folder
C:\Users\<local account...
I guess it is because Libraries are combined views of possibly many folders, so they have to trigger a specialized view mode to allow the folders to be grouped and organized.
All threads, even in highly structured forums like this one, all seem subject to the inevitable decay of entropy.
As just pointed out in this very post.
I have tried the following RegEdit file and it seems to work well enough. There are still a few problems, but most folders show up looking fine to me.
Libraries and their handling seems to be...
If you want to go back far enough, I used to have a copy of Intel's 1970's CPU pricelist.
If I recall, the 8080 had a 10 millisecond cycle time and cost over $100 and it required a whole board full...
We used to be able to use Config.sys to make a VDisk and assign it a drive letter.
You do the current equivalent.
Then you start to install Windows on that drive letter.
Then install your...
Like my 120 Mhz Gateway Windows XP computer, all SCSI, with SCSI DAT backup and HP Scanjet scanner. Costs just $10K.
Or my old music hardware that cost $30K.
I just laugh at the current prices,...
It doesn't have to be NVRAM, I'd be willing to re-load memory on each restart. I just want the support to run from memory that that edition may supply.
It would be expensive, but some people buy...
One thing I'm looking forward to in the next version of Windows for HEDT is the support for large amounts of NVRAM memory.
I hope my next computer will have enough memory surplus that I can create...
That depends on your OS changes and installed programs.
I have re-located the user folders, set up links of swapfiles and internet caches to other locations. There are countless small tweaks and...
I do many types of image backups for a variety of reasons/disaster scenarios:
1) I image just the C: system partition quite often
2) I image the full system disk with all its partitions before...
I have restore points disabled, I just do full image backups.
I keep C: small so my backups are fast, frequent and I don't need restore points (which only make the backup bigger).
I've found...
