I have a Steam icon on the Start panel. If I right click on it, I get the menu pictured.
The recently used program list for the Steam computer game client never updates. It says recent but it misses actual recent games that I've played and lists games that I haven't touched for months or...
I just had a problem occur for the second time in a few days. Some keyboard-like input was going into my computer, making it very difficult to exert much control. The input seems to have consisted of...
*Shudder*. The last thing I want is to open Pandora's box of OS glitches. I will let that sleeping dog lay. Thanks again.
Thanks very much. LTSpice now runs and maybe I'll try that game again at some point. As for the permission issue, may I can delete the OneDrive/Documents folder. There's nothing in there I need to...
Thanks but for some reason there's no reference to the Document folder when I enter set at a command prompt. Here is the entire output:

I think that Dead Space, (a PC game installed via the Steam game platform), tries to write to the Documents folder and crashes when it is unable to do so. I think that LTSpice, a circuit design...
This is still a problem for me! It's stopping some programs from running because they can't write some stuff to that folder. Alternatively, is there a way to get programs to direct their attention to...

My Bluetooth headset is not playing music even though Windows claims it's connected (a signal is not even being sent because my BT amp has a tranmit LED which is not lighting). The disconnect button...
Thanks but I restarted both my PC and the NAS already and still get the same error.
Unfortunately, I did say in my comments already, those settings did not help.
You're right; they're in the Advanced Settings but changing these to Min = 2 or Min = 2 and large MTU and Max = 3 has not changed the error I get (0x80004005).

The NAS in question is a Synology DS215j. I think it is to do with Windows because it works fine all the time on my mum's laptop running Windows 10 and sporadically on this machine running Windows...
I tried to connect to my NAS by entering \\Wintermute into my File Explorer address bar and was prompted to enter my credentials. I then got this error. I get this error every time I try to connect...
Sometimes I open a program that wants to use the Internet and then get asked about authorisation to access a network and it's always been kind of confusing to me. The public network that the program...
When I click inside the address bar, the name changes to the version with a date in it. Any idea what's going on?
Hi. You understand the problem correctly.
The path is correct, read only is turned off (unchecked) and there are no previous versions.
I have a strange problem. In 2005 I created a folder called "Downloads" with the date appended to it. Later on, (I'm not sure when), I removed the date, renaming the folder to just "Downloads". I...
If I search for "so" in the Start menu, I get the sound settings suggested. If I search for "soun" in the Start menu, I get a different result, even though both results contain both "so" and "soun"....
I have multiple internal HDDs recognised by Windows as portable/removable drives. I tried using the linked instructions to get Windows to recognise them as internal/non-removable and failed. I used...
Yes, that works, thanks.
