This is why I use a drive bay in my desktop. Slide in a SSD with a image of the GOOD drive and see what happens....Saved my butt a couple of times.

If your one PC is a desktop and the case has drive bays you can do what I do. Buy a tray, put it in the bay and then you can just swap drives and run any system your PC can handle on each different...
