Look like everyone having this KB5034441install issue!
Checking for updates ....... is damn slow today.
Expected, likely MS is sitting waiting for bugs to surface.
2 weeks of October gone, left 2 weeks for Windows 10 22H2 to roll out.
So when can we expect Windows 10 22H2?
3 machines updated. However, 1 machine stuck at 24% during the restart routine. Force shutdown and boot, it restart during the boot and reach login screen. Run sfc /scannow found corrupted files and...
Check for update on a few machines at work, none has 21H2 update show up.
Ignored above as I found another way via Install from context menu using .cab file:
Microsoft introduces the next feature...
I meant Windows 10 21H2.
So we can expect 21H2 to be released on Nov 9?
After installation, realized my Creative AE-5 sound card is not working. Restarting still the same issue.
Got to re-install the Creative driver to resolve.
Found the solution here.
Updated 3 office machines to 21H1, but none has News and Interests in taskbar.

Try download manually from Window Catalog on page and do a manual install?

Your machine maybe quite old or on mechanical HDD?
Try and you will know the answer.
No issue installing on 3 home machines and another 3 work machines so far.
I have the same issue and same 685 build too. Resolved by in-place Windows 10 installation using Media Creation Tool.
Done a in-place install using 20H2 Media Creation Tool. Now at 19042.746
One of my machines got this (0x800f0988) error via WU.
Manual download will not install too.
Thanks, moinmoin. Finally managed to install the kb4579311 patch using the Ben script with the kb4579311 downloaded from catalog in same folder.
:-)
I think I done it wrongly without the kb4579311 update file.
Will try again tomorrow.
Need to restart after running the script?
The site is non English, so clueless with all the comments.
I think those having issue installing KB4579311 should wait for 20H2 update and see if install fine rather than reformat and clean install.
I reset using this:
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10
But still having same error installing kb4579311 after executing and restart.
