DISM /online /cleanup-image/startcomponentcleanup does NOT touch installer directory.
PatchCleaner breaks newer office and adobe installations.

The winsxs folder is not the installer folder.

The tutorial is great but it doesn't reduce the size of the c:\windows\installer folder.

Has anyone tried this script ?

Will it clean the "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" folder ?

Because I did a "Disk Cleanup" and I deleted "Windows Update Cleanup" files but there are still 5.02 GB in...

The 5.02 GB is somewhere in the windows updates ... but where ?
The only explanation is in the "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" folder.
The above folder can't be cleaned by "Disk Cleanup"...

Now disk cleanup shows only 17,3MB of...

Make a backup first...
Then try this script.
Copy it and save it into a notepad file.
Rename it to whatever_you_like.bat
Run it and press yes.

It will remove the windows.old folder.

1. convert your install.esd to install.wim using WinReducerESWimConverter.
