thanks zbook for the extra comments!
Hi,
Thanks.
Drivers are all up-to-date, not much to update: AMD chipset, Video card and BIOS.
zbook can I ask about points 2 and 6? What do I do with the bootable drive once it's done? It is...
Hi all,
I walked away from my computer and when I came back I found it had restarted. Logs say it was unexpected.
The computer was really idle, not doing anything.
Logs below. Can someone give...
I usually use Edge's address bar as you suggested. Next time I see this happening I'll try to document it better.
Yes, I removed Bing altogether some time ago from the search engines, I can confirm I am still set to google.
What you suggest would show a BING result page if somehow Edge was redirecting me to...
Hi all,
I've experienced a weird issue with Edge Version 120.0.2210.61 and Windows 10 22H2.
Every now and then when I search on Google.co.uk the first results are from Bing. I can see the font...
I'm picking this up again.
I'm giving up on sleep. I always find the laptop running when closed despite no armed devices etc.
The usual scenario is: I return home and I plug the charger. The...
I reinstalled it not long ago and... it's tired :) It's tired with a fresh install, then with stuff on it it gets worse! Very usable of course.
Hi
The monitor is being used for other inputs and Windows detects it as long as it's powered on - even though displaying a different input. Yes I could unplug it but I was hoping not to have to...
Hi all,
I have a laptop which is connected to an external monitor via a dock. It's wired only "just in case". I can disable the monitor in Windows and that's fine but if I unplug and re-plug the...
I shall do - that command is indeed great. Still surprised MS didn't make it a bit easier as it seems like a widespread issue.
Thanks again all for your time!
After I disabled the network and the mouse earlier on, I have NONE now which is good. Let's see if this is enough!
Thanks all for your help
Done thanks.
I also found my wireless mouse somehow had reverted to default settings and able to wake up the system. I am 100% confident I did disable that. Maybe the dongle ended up on a different...
Hello again,
I'm resuming this old thread of mine. Different laptop, same issue. S0 is not supported on this one so I'm in S3.
I keep finding the laptop with the fans spinning with the lid...
It says S0 connected but I noticed that I normally find it hibernated - that is, it starts with the Lenovo logo and then loads back Windows in about 10-15 seconds.
Must be an option in the Lenovo...
Denis,
Indeed, I've disabled S0 and I am now on S3. All works as expected.
That being said, this is a gen 8 intel laptop. I have another Lenovo which is a gen11 laptop. To be fair I never had...
Found the tutorial and indeed I think I'm ok with S3.
S0 seems a bit stupid - as I said, I don't mind new things but if I open my laptop after a full charge and it's drained, then it doesn't work...
Try3
Thanks a lot for that, I appreciate your time! indeed I was writing when you posted.
First, one weird thing.
I browsed the BIOS a bit, disabled some power related stuff then re-loaded...
Thank you!
I am noticing something weird. The red "Lenovo" light was flashing as to indicate "I am in standby" but the laptop's fans were spinning. When I opened the lid the picture was there...
Hi all
My laptop is running Windows 21H2. The laptop keeps waking up with the lid closed and I'm running out of options.
If I run powercfg -lastwake I get this:
C:\Windows\system32>powercfg...
just wanted to say thanks - Clearly very straightforward that to add folders to the media libraries you have to use WMP :)
Thank you from my end too! In my case I did NOT have "english international" but "english - united kingdom" (the correct one). I installed "english american", made it default, removed "english united...
Thank you then! 🙂
To be clear, I’m not trying to access locked encrypted data. The encrypted disk is working fine now and I have access to it - I am the legitimate user.
My question is: by doing what I suggest...
