I went back to Win 8.1 and I'm perfectly happy. Nothing that I miss from 10 at all and, like you, I was dealing with too many irritating issues on 10.
I'm willing to admit that Windows 10 is better than DOS.
Probably not worth the five minutes it would take you to flash it. Unless there is some outstanding issue that you know it will fix I wouldn't worry about it.
That's right... it's called metadata... the same thing the NSA is not supposed to be collecting but does anyway. As someone else said, above, MS isn't the only company that engages in metadata...
I used a registry cleaner once back in the Windows 95 days. I've been getting along just fine without them. They are basically digital snake oil.
My mom called me up today and told me she was on Windows 10 now and wanted to know if that was ok... lol
These numbers aren't really surprising when MS is forcing the upgrades... nor do they...
I'm about ready to roll back to step 1. Win 10 has been, for me, more annoyances and problems than I have had since Win 98. Honestly, the only thing keeping me on it is that I have been too lazy to...
I don't think there's anything in these articles that is going to reassure anyone who had initial concerns about privacy and information collecting. It's basically a PR statement with no new...
Was finally able to get my drivers updated... same audio glitches as with the old drivers though. Wondering if the new Win10 build is going to be necessary to fix it.
Where did you find it?
MS update catalog links do not work... even if I use IE. Anyone got a copy of the x64 latest drivers they can upload to mediafire or some other service? Would love to beat these audio glitches. ...
Thanks, I appreciate it.
*edit* Unfortunately, those MS update catalog links don't work... even if you use IE.
Anybody know if the Realtek audio problem they reference in the changelog can be fixed independent of the Windows update? I have been getting those audio glitches. I dropped out of the Insider...
No problem... good luck with it.
I actually just posted a similar topic before I saw this. I tried some online suggested solutions and nothing worked. If you go to the solitaire "help forums" linked from the MS store you will also...
Anyone have a tip to fix this problem with Microsoft Solitaire crashing every single time you launch it? Looking for a proven fix... all the stuff I have found and tried through searches has failed....
Unfortunately, I have to agree... it's a real annoyance. The developers seem to agree that it's not possible, but maybe someone will find a way.
I was just stopping by to answer my own ancient question about an Oblytile alternative, but it looks like you guys have already been talking about Tile Creator. Haven't had a chance to test it out...
Ok, great... it did let me opt out easily once I rolled back to the previous version.
I guess if you want to opt out, make sure you do it before they start updating you.
Thanks for the advice.
That just sends you to a page on MS's website that basically tells you to reinstall Win 8. Is that the bottom line or is there a better way (like just entering your serial # or something)?
What's the process for getting out of the insider program and back to RTM if you got this update?
I updated to the new insider version today and now cannot open any of my Office apps. Went to leave feedback and it prompts me to change a privacy setting which doesn't exist before it will allow me...
I've noticed plenty of little problems with Win 10, but I can't say that speed, in any way, is one of them. I don't notice any difference at all when compared to Win 8.1. I would say if you have...
Unfortunately, in Windows 10 you can't without using the method someone listed above that would involve babysitting new updates that you don't want and manually hiding them as they come up.
It's...
Unfortunately, the option to manually install "optional" updates has been removed from Windows Update... so Windows can now decide to keep overwriting the drivers you install. This may not be a...
