Yes, the hard drive shows up in Device Manager. The flash drive behaves the same as the hard drive. Windows finds it immediately and I can check the contents but no Autoplay prompting.

I have the same problem. I have set autoplay to "ask me everytime" but it has not ever asked me what to do when inserting an external drive or disk.
