Is this the final build then?
This is a very nice build!!!
OK I'm installed and all tracking well so far. Took AGES to install this time.
Thank god this horrible bug is squashed!
"We fixed an issue from recent flights causing precision touchpads to periodically need a few tries to be able to move the mouse."
That was killing me in...
Downloading now!!! Looks like a high quality release with lots of bug fixes, fingers crossed. I was really pulling my hair out with MS Edge again in the last build and went back to using Chrome...
Has anyone had any issues with this build with virtualisation not being available? Specifically:
- In Task Manager, it says "Virtualisation: Enabled"
- But when I run the Intel Processor...
Mine installed sweet, all good and running well!
Nice build, mine is working very nicely...!! Edge is also feeling more and more polished too.
Yep mine is good too. Installed now and going well!
Installing now...!!!
It is still attached to so many things that would need to be re-written or decommissioned before they could get rid off it! But hopefully they will...
Yep me too, I never seem to need Control Panel these days, Settings seems to do 95% of everything you need.
I would like a super modern win 10 build that doesn't even come with internet explorer...
I can't wait until Control Panel has been completely replaced and you can't even find it any more. Any idea how long until they'll be able to completely get rid of it? It's definitely shrinking...
I gotta say that MS Edge is feeling a lot more polished in this release. Fingers crossed, but it hasn't annoyed me once yet.
I find it stupid that I can run a third party tool to update windows which uses the files that windows downloaded for me, but windows can't install them as an update itself!??! WTF... HUGE BUG MS.
Yep I agree and it's definitely a worry.
It's pretty crazy that we're using "Windows Update" to update "Windows" and it doesn't work :) But it is the insider program and we do accept the risks that things won't work. But it's still super...
I don't believe this, the ISO method completely worked this time!!!!!!!!!
For those still struggling have you tried the ISO method?
It's not much additional effort and worked for me after over 10...
My updates to 16288 keep failing. This time, I've let WU download and prepare everything and it says "Awaiting restart" so I'm generating an ISO right at this point from the SoftwareDistribution...
I'm trying again now, but not optimistic it's gunna work.
Yep I've turned all my services and defender etc back on too, that did stuff all.
Yep me too. Never had this many issues and I'm a very long term insider, PC/Windows user, software engineer, comp sci background. This build is simply too hard, it shouldn't take this much to get it...
No cigar. Bloody failed again. That's about ten attempts. You win Microsoft, I'm giving up! Releasing better software next build please.
Ok good to know. I've ran all the steps in FULL and am now just letting WU re-download a fresh copy and install now.
Fingers crossed!!!
Ok let's see, I've now disabled everything in Windows Defender and am getting the "Enable virus scanning software!" warnings from Windows because I did that. Now I'm going back up to run through all...
So the only tiny variation to your steps that I did was to leave the 3 Intel services running which come with the surface pro (they are just the surface pro drivers etc), not any other junk that's...
