No error messages, it just stops working. Doesn't play the test sounds...or if it does, I don't hear them. Then I have to reinstall.
Not sure how to check event logs.
Hi, all.
Long time no post - things have been running pretty smoothly 'til now. I installed the Spring Creator's Update on the 14th of May without any issues. In the last two weeks, I have had to...
Thanks, zbook....as everything is working as expected now, I don't need to do another upgrade.
I'm the only user on the machine, but I did eventually manage to open the file.

Out for the rest of the day now, so I'll reply later.
I don't have permission to open the setupact.log files that I have found.
I've found files, but can't seem to open them.

Don't know whether that helps...
Dear friends,
I am very sorry for my earlier outbursts. I find this whole update thing rather stressful. I made a thirteenth and fourteenth attempt at installing the update on my personal machine...
I don't know how to remove the battery, and wouldn't feel comfortable doing so. Is there no other way? Will simply disconnecting from mains power not be sufficient, with the machine turned off?
Thank you. I'd still like to know whether I can reschedule the restart, as I would like to be awake when it happens, so that I can be on hand if there are any issues. My own experience of repeated...
Hi, all.
I'm still having problems with the Fall Creator's Update on two devices. As I haven't been able to get it to install on my machine, I do not want to attempt it yet on my mother's...
Thanks, zbook.
I have not made any further progress, as I do not want the upgrade at this time. I am in the process of hiding the update using dalchina's instructions.
And the update to 1709...
And then I'd miss out on security updates and such. Great! Thanks, Microsoft...
After all the stress it's causing me, I don't give a damn about the upgrade. Is it possible to clear the Windows Update queue and tell it that I don't want the FCU?

Can I check the recovery partition without going into Safe Mode?
Apologies for double post, but having looked at the Toshiba website, it doesn't seem that my particular model is supported for the Fall Creator's Update. Odd.
I've hit a wall, and can't do any more today. It seems to be proceeding as planned. Will report back if I have any further issues.
I bought the machine with Windows 10. I have no clue about the HDDR partition, and don't feel comfortable meddling with anything here.
Thanks, dalchina.

Hi, all.
I've had no problems with updates on my Toshiba L50-C laptop until trying to install version 1709.
The update wouldn't download last night, so I shut down and ran the WU...
I've recently switched to Firefox for all of my Internet browsing activity, for that reason. I am keen to upgrade my system before it fails, as I feel it is likely to do. I am already having issues...
Thanks, LMiller - this machine would need to be an all-rounder, from web browsing to audio recording. (Not professional level audio recording, I hasten to add.)
Thank you, guys.
Now - question is, will I be able to find it at a lower price as we sneak closer to the festive period?
Hi, all.
I'm new-ish here - reading and learning mainly. This is only the second topic I've started.
Right now, I have two options, as far as I see it.
I can either double the 2GB of RAM...
Fantastic - will download later. Is it fairly idiot-proof?
