Basically, like with my laptop and my Lenovo all in one, it's not going to happen.
I believe Microsoft has only released the ones for the last 3gen CPU(Skylake thru coffee lake), but that is only a patch really, best is when the motherboard OEMs provide an update.

Good I had absolutely no problems since they were applied, on any of my three PCs or VMs:)
Nope it shows all:

 Good one John!, Damn these non-rep-able threads:(
But know now, a rep for you is in my heart:chuckle:
I have a licence;)
But as I showed, Regedit does the job well enough, the other two(Aida64 and CPU-Z were just to prove the point that you don't need extra software to do it with).
By the way, if anyone is curious and want to know their microcode revision, just run the validation in CPU-Z and it will show it here, when the validation is finished and your default browser opens:...

So is it microcode applied after BIOS(hardware check), during the CMOS phase(applying hardware settings), or during the OS load phase?
I like learning new things:)

And my other two PC's are at an age, where they won't be getting a new BIOS, so..:p.(they are just back up systems anyhow).
An alternative would be, restart Windows, so the fast startup is no used, then as soon as you get to the desktop, before all background services, and 3rd party software is loaded, use the SA86...
dencal try running the SA 00086 tool in safe mode.
That's for the Z170(skylake/kaby lake) boards.
It looks like they are getting to the older chipsets finally.
One thing one should always remember:
If you are updating BIOS, and have overclocked your CPU, set you BIOS back to defaults, by clicking the option to set to OS optimal settings(normally in the...
