just restarted and got a BSoD clock_watchdog_timeout before it even finished booting
xmp is disabled
just ordered a new CPU, cheap 4gb stick of RAM, and a new PSU
Torquemada - yes, I can. do you think thats the culprit?

I just got it to boot. throttled the...

I been getting BSoDs and freezes. since the new mobo yesterday is been mostly BSoDs with varying reasons [whea uncorrectable, machine check, clock watchdog]
Hey Torquemada
no, they were at the top. I didnt think it mattered - the instructions didnt really specify. I have noted the heat and the CPU has never gotten above 44C that I have seen
axe0
weird but this board doesnt show the 3.3v
cpu core: 1.24v
cpu i/o: 0.952v
cpu sa: 1.056v
system/5v: 5.12v
system/12v: 12.384v

I tried to boot into mint and it wont even finish loading
I dont have another PSU.
DO you think thats the higher likelihood than the CPU?
unplugged all other drives
rebooted
installed windows on the crucial 500gb drive
install went fine
first boot
added u/n, pass, express settings
clicked ok to finish - proceed to win 10

weird stuff happening.

no. I reckon I need to just reinstall windows
Just tried to install drivers and got the error: machine_check_exception
just installed a brand new MSI board.
booted up, opened chrome. it froze!
gahhhhhhhh
much thanks to you and axe0 for all the help
Hi Torquemada
Yeah, I ordered a new board yesterday, Got an MSI this time, hoping I will have better luck. I will post up when I get it installed.
Boozad I removed all of the gigabyte utilities early on - it was my first assumed culprit.
reconnected 500GB SSD and one of the WD drives with my images on it
rebooted
opened lightroom6
develop module
processed for about 30 seconds
complete freeze
so since the flash mint has been up and running for an hour or more
I cant get it to recognize another usb drive to load a photo to play with, not can I get it to go online. but its up just idling
I can do it. I updated it to F4
yup, did that yesterday when you guys suggested it
