Didn't Intel offer software to do just that ? Could be that only worked with Intel SSD though.
Wouldn't you obtain better performance overall by installing the OS on the Samsung drive...

BTW, if you're after speed I'd really recommend SSD drives. That speeds up just about any PC or portable to amazing levels.
They're getting cheaper as we speak too. :cool:

Read speeds are always going to be higher than writes. That's to be expected.
The figures you obtain with the AHCI drivers enables seem to be pretty much what you'd expect from a typical HD....
