Cause I'm almost certain, that other processes I've stopped earlier (mind you in Win 8.1) never returned or got active again untill I myself startet them in Task Manager ...

Nope .... I can not hide it. But I stopped the Windows Update process - called "wuauserv"- in Task Manager, and it is still "Stopped" after re-booting - this being the easiest way to deal...
