Aw well it didn't work. I tried 512 and then 1024. Windows Display settings now says I have 5120MB but the scanner software still says 0GB VRAM. Thanks anyway, it was worth a shot.

Alright, thanks a bunch. I'll try it out when I wake up in the morning.
So I'm reviewing this 3D scanner for my YouTube channel and I'd like to use it with my laptop rather than my desktop. On my laptop the scanner software says there's not enough video memory. I found a...
Well that video is the one I mentioned following above. I don't have a removable battery (do any laptops now?) so I guess I would have to unplug and use the laptop for a few hours until it completely...
That's the first thing I tried. Just to be sure, after reading your suggestion I waited a few hours until it happened again and tried just pressing power. Nothing. I did notice something though....
I have an HP Envy x360 2-in-1 laptop that's about 2 years old now. Over the past few weeks I've had an odd problem where frequently after it goes to sleep I'll wake it up and it seems to come awake...
My laptop is about a year old and it recently started this problem where any program I click to load takes about a minute or so to start. Even clicking the start button takes a while. Once the...
I've been having some issues with my laptop lately, running slow, trouble logging in, etc. so I'm trying to run Windows Update. It downloaded some things but fails with one.

I followed the video and used Partition Magic it worked perfectly with one small difference. It said my D: drive was in use so it had to restart and it handled everything in a DOS-like GUI, then...
Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I may have actually made a USB recovery stick before now that it's mentioned. I'll have to check. Otherwise it's easy enough to make another.
I was just looking at this Macrium Reflect, it says the free version can reorder and resize partitions.
Huh Well I don't think I have any other means to recover if I need to. Would it be possible to get rid of them now, resize, then create a new one later?
Well I bought it new but I think it came with Win8 So I probably upgraded to 8.1 and then to 10.
Huh... This is just the way it came. It's an Asus computer.
I have the issue that my C: drive is pretty much out of space, I keep getting low space warnings and I've tried moving everything I can to my D: drive. Basically it's a 1.5TB disk with C: and D:...
I just ran Windows Update and all seemed well, I rebooted as usual but when I logged in again i just have a black screen with a small white window that says "Personalized Settings (Not Responding)"....
I just tried it with "Hey Cortana open Notepad." and it worked fine. Worked with Photoshop too. I just wish it brought them to the foreground. The app opens but I have to click it on the taskbar to...
I sort of found a solution. She's not getting through the Windows Firewall. I wonder if I can make an exception in the firewall for Cortana. You'd think this would be in there by default.
That is true, The resolution is the only thing I don't like in that app. I also did complain about the one in 8 recently though. The old version had weather from several sources, the new ones only...
I was just looking, I don't see any way to just uninstall that app.
No ideas but it does work fine here. The app is completely redone in 10 though, much more info on one screen
Every time I say something to her I get a response of "Something's not right. Try again in a little bit". I tried "Play some music" and got a little excited when she said "OK playing your music..."...
