Font rendering in W10 is DIFFERENT to that in W7. FACT. (I am using 3 x Dell 2214H monitors - 1920x1080 each)
1. W10 fonts are less black than W7

I have tried hard to use W10 for my daily desktop OS but many things force me back to W7;...

I did, but by installing the next build after that one.
Now on 10240. And disliking it so much that I am back on my trusty W7...

Once I learned of this setting in 9926, I never used the expandable, non-configurable, 'start' menu.
But this reg setting doesn't seem to work on the new 10041... :eek:

I'd actually already done that - there are no *.dmp files anywhere on the W7 drive at all.
I can see there are errors in the event logs...

While looking for logs generally, I see there is a folder called AERO in windows\diagnostics\system...
Searching for AERO actually pulls up a huge amount of hits, themes, resources, frameworks etc...

I like having a decent list of most used apps on the start launch list in W7. I would change to [not] 'large icons' in the start customisation options, then set the start menu size to (say) 20 apps....
