Do you perhaps know how to find the file...
(didn't say hi the 1st time - Hi Brink :-))
I dont think so, and 'cos I did that .bat reset, FH thinks it hasn't been configured yet ....
This thread ( Backup "No usable drives found" ) suggests...
Got 2 drives actually, 1 int, 1 ext - both normally visible in file explorer/ my pc etc. Its only file history can't see 'em. Both are NTFS.
From another thread - I have folders in both drives...
Hi - just checking the "you have to be sure you have not entered the drive in some kind of libary" solution, I have 2 separate drives that file history doesn't recognise, both have folders (lots)...
Hi, after my external drive failed I couldn't use or change file history - win10 insisted I reconnect the (broken) drive. Your .bat rest file has partly fixed that - thanks.
But win10 still wont...
Thanks, appreciated.

Outlook - I know how to more that, must have got it wrong before.
Then some games, I wonder if they have C:\Users\... hard coded instead of using the quick access...
Brink or anyone
I had moved my documents folder to D:\Documents a long time back. This PC > Documents points to the same place.
BUT I have found that the original folder has been recreated,...
Hi all, my 'new' win7 has activated - which leaves me in a similar position to when this long, time waste of a saga started. To recap, I initially did a fresh load of win10 using the MS provided ISO...
Gotcha. Still no win10 icon on the laptop, not looking promising ....
Thanks, but tried all 3 methods, rebooted, waited .... and still no win10 icon.
I gather the 'key' gets stored in the hardware somewhere, so once win10 is reserved you have that 'key permanently in...
Hi - so win7 seems fine, and I did check for updates, got lots of those OK. Between my install being from the only win7 ISO MS offers at the moment, plus the updates, it must be ok to be upgraded...
OK, installed, yay. Just a few drivers to find .....
I'd be interested in any thoughts on my partition queries above - Its something I know little about.
And I will have to cross fingers that...
Update: seem to be getting somewhere. I downloaded the win7 ISO using my other PC's key, made an iso DVD. Reinstalled win10.
Rebooted and voila, seem to be installing win 7, fingers crossed :-) ...
Nah, worked in IT all my life ....
Hi Brink, worked through your great post on the settings etc. What I have found is the critical options do not appear in my win10. For example the 'choose an option' screen doesn't have the 'use a...
I would also have thought that Win10 couldn't interfere with the boot, but for example I could see the DVD drive operating with a win7 ISO disk - but, as with every other way I have tried to boot to...
Disappointingly it seems to have been overwritten by the install, I did hope that a hidden partition would have been left alone, but sadly not.
MS won't let me download the ISO 'cos it verifies the...
Thanks for the welcome.
That's interesting, it was ACER support who identified the oem issue - they said that the fresh install would have accepted a non-oem licence key.
My problem is that I...
Hi, I have lost many hours trying to get out of a mess that quite frankly I blame Microsoft for. If they have said the Win10 will not be free for oem version of a previous os, I didn't find that....
