I noticed my memory is 1600mhz but the BIOS setting for "optimal settings" sets it for 1066. I've changed the setting to 1600 9-9-9-24.
My apologies, I did not get a chance to run that test yet. My system drive is an SSD, but I have 4 data drives I can run the test on.
Meanwhile, I noticed my computer has rebooted. I found a new...
No, I'm still on the 4 good ones. I didn't receive the 2 replacements yet. I will be getting them today though. I posted a minidump. Any insight on the cause of that crash? Thanks.
:(
Got a BSOD just now. I have not received my replacement sticks yet. Actually it arrived, but fedex didn't leave it here, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow.
I've attached the minidump...
what do you mean by carefully? my plan was to install them in my last 2 slots and run a memtest overnight. do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks for your help. I ran a memtest overnight with just the 4 sticks and no errors. I would have never known I had bad hardware if it wasnt for you. Meanwhile I just sent the 2 sticks to corsair...
It turns out I have 2 bad RAM sticks. I've created an RMA for them, and currently running 8gb instead of 12gb while they are in transit. Hopefully this was the cause of my BSOD issues.

ok, it looks like i have 12gb total with pairs of 2gb sticks. i tried using 1 stick and 1 slot only but it wouldn't get past the POST.
i've run 8 passes through the first pair and there were no...
well it looks like i'm getting failures on the first pass. what's the next step, take a stick out and run it again?
thank you. i shall run this tonight.
Hey all, I've attached 4 minidumps. Can you please help troubleshoot this intermittent BSOD?
