I just sent them some 'helpful' feedback. :banghead:
It's been a week with no problems. Marking this Solved with my thanks to MrPepka.

MrPepka,
Thank you for the instructions.
Using Intel's Driver Assistant I updated the HD 630 drivers. However, I did not update the Radeon drivers because Intel cautioned my system uses custom...
Windows Version: Win 10 Pro x64, Version 20H2, Build 19042.685
I have been getting 1-3 atikmdiag.sys crashes per month for at least the last 6 months. Otherwise the system is running well. HP...
That is a great idea to set the baseline. I'll do it now.
Thanks, zbook.
I sent the unit to HP Repair. They replaced the motherboard and returned the unit to me within 7 days with no scratches or dings. All appears functional now. There must have been a bad batch of...
Running the command line version of what appears to be the DM Log Collector created .Zip file on my desktop which is empty.
DM Log Collector appeared to peruse the various logs and reports in Windows. It created the folder TFdebugFiles on the desktop but File Explorer reports that file is unavailable. Neither File...

We ran through resetting BIOS, updating BIOS, resetting CMOS, various boots with/without...
Successfully updated the BIOS but that did not fix the shutdown = restart problem.
1. Windows displays this issue.

3. After updating BIOS it still has the issue.
I'm going to perform another full backup before updating the BIOS. It's odd that HP's own Support Assistant does not pick up on the BIOS update ver F.30A (I'm running F.21). The Readme for the update...
Had to use the K menu to initiate shutdown.
As before, the screen reports the system shutdown and then the computer restarted.
I used Etcher to burn KNOPPIX 8.1 CD/DVD to a USB drive. Booted to it and got the system to come up. Boy, KNOPPIX does not like 3840 x 2160 resolution! I had to grab a pair of magnifying glasses I...
I will perform that operation tonight. (I've got to get back to work.)
Thank you for the real-time assistance, FreeBooter!
No joy. I followed the instructions and unchecked allowing the computer to save power.
Start menu shutdown: restarts
Command line shutdown: restarts
Single press of power button: restarts (system...
Reloaded factory defaults in BIOS and attempted shutdown: the computer restarted.
FreeBooter,
Thanks for the reply. The issue occurs in Safe Mode, as well. Note that this is a new Windows 10 installation and not an upgrade from Win 7/8.
