I've upgraded two of my Pc's with no issue. On the 3rd PC it got stuck on 95 percent and it's still stalled after 2 hours. May have to power it off and hope that it reverts to the previous build.

I did the upgrade on my old HP desktop and it broke Home Networking. and it removed the file explorer icon on my taskbar and it will not let me pin it back.
I agree. 3.0 is a hot mess. I rolled all the way back to 1.75 which is much lighter and causes no BSOD's
8040 installed and working. Sound quality is also good.
So why doesn't 8040 install? Did microsoft goof and put a incompatible driver for those who have the ALC 8888S chipsets?
Just for kicks, I tried to install this driver and I get the same message on all my PC's with the realtek sound chip. Started with 8037 version.
The site is hit or miss. I downloaded the driver from softpedia.
It's a no go for me as well. These drivers 8037 will not install. I'm sticking with 8029 until further notice.
Upon restart I received a page fault in error nonpaged area BSOD. My PC rebooted and it successfully installed. Not sure why it happened though.
Same on my new HP laptop.
