clean install recommended, then install ESET, then in settings switch to pre-release server, update, reboot and do system startup scan. that's all.

Yes they have a solution but it seems you still need to reinstall windows and then switch to pre-release in ESET update server. I'll wait for for a stable build.
This is the 3rd day since i reinstalled Win10 with NO ESET.... still no issue, the icons are ok and the system is fully updated. So stay off ESET for a while.

So back to the problem in hand... For the time being the solution is: reinstall windows (MACRIUM or fresh install) and stay off ESET for a while. Worked for me...
I know... but i like staring at the screen and watch all those wonderful windows messages :D
