Yep, scores within error. The delid did not buy me as much as pulling air in through the radiator in the front as opposed to pushing it through the radiator at the top.

Not any new features to get lost in, just removed functionality that will probably irritate you. You will probably hate it.
Seeing the scores for the Alder Lake 12900k? Must resist temptation... Intel Must have really boosted the IPC and improved thread switching efficiency.
`I use a magnetized parts bowl by Park (bicycle) Tool to toss my screws and what-not into so I won't loose them. Magnetizes them as well. Can magnetize screwdrivers as well It is really handy for...
Direct storage was of of the few new features touted for Windows 11. Microsoft later had indicated it would be supported for Windows 10. I guess that is never going to happen. It isn't in Windows 11...
Mine neither! (Sharonville)
Well looks like you hit the Bonanza!
Well that is unfortunate.
I suppose that, since Direct Storage reportedly requires Microsoft standard nvme drivers, Samsung and others have no incentive to update their drivers.
Windows 10 makes use of secure boot and TPM 2.0 and device attestation as does Windows 11. Most of TPM is pre-boot and boot-handoff, independent of Windows version. I don't think there is anything...
Current Samsung nvme driver 3.3 does not support the 980, only the 980 Pro. I am guessing 3.3 is the end-of-the line of Samsung supplied nvme drivers.
Agree with you completely Stigg. Just bloatware but for the firmware check. Haven't had it installed for some time.
Your not having good luck, sorry. I almost order everything online with few issues. I guess I have been lucky. Hope yours turns around.
And the "lesser" boards DDR4 only. :(
Reason I said tinted was thinking plastic. But I looked it up and believe tempered tinted glass does not contain any, only laminated.
Well, on the bright side, it is a reason to upgrade, but it...
Bummer. Tinted?
Now you have special effects.
They have added more support for 12th gen Alder Lake performance processors, etc. That is all I know - there were intermediate versions.
Latest is now 7.5.2.3, 9/13/2021
Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel(R) XTU)
?? Works fine here why should I reboot? :D
No reason not to update IMO.
And hover over the taskbar icon and it shows % complete.
Ahh. I have that disabled because it is incompatible with some caching software I use. Thnks
Controller, not NAND. Probably due to chip shortage. It performs worse for large transfers once the on-board cache runs out from what I hear. But perhaps better in other aspects.
As Cliff mentioned it requires DirectX 12 ultimate. The 20xx support that. You also have to have a nvme SSD with the Windows nvme driver. AFAIK, those are the requirements. But it isn't there yet.
For Direct Storage you need to use the Microsoft nvme driver anyways.
I suspect Samsung may not provide drivers going forward. hope I am wrong though.
