Or try running Media...
viju WSReset.exe was supposed to clean the Windows Store cache, but now it just opens Windows Store.
What antivirus are you using? Also update your system specs.
14393 is the Redstone 1 update, it's not for Server 2016, it's for Windows 10.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and press Update now.
Oh god, haven't been here for a while...
Emrick Can you post a Task Manager screenshot?
viju Update Windows 10 to version 14393 (1611) and try that again.
Solved! Just disabled a function in the BIOS called "SATA IDE combined mode" and it successfully installed Windows 10!
@alphanumeric No, I always select in the BIOS to install from the DVD / USB. In the partitions screen, I just do the whole disk unallocated and try to install.

As I said, the drive was formatted in GParted, because I could not delete the Windows 8.1 partition on Windows 10 setup. Everything was grayed out in the hard drive options (like format, delete...

Hi,
The computer originally had Windows 8.1 64-bit. I was re-installing Windows 10 64-bit with my flash drive, but I couldn't delete the Windows 8.1 partition, because all of the options were...
What to test on another system? RAM sticks? This is a laptop, and I don't have a spare laptop which supports DDR4 RAM.
@jpolacko and @Ztruker : I'll try doing something about the RMA.
@axe0 : It's not a RAM issue, tried running Memtest86+ for 8 passes, no errors were found, unless you have another way of testing...
It's this laptop: https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/ASUS-Vivobook-X556UQ
So, I have to RMA this laptop? I was seriously hoping that I could do anything to fix this.
No, I just can't install Windows 10 64-bit (but can 32-bit), because I get a BSOD.
I am very sorry to do this.
Bump.
I know, I know that you can't bump threads on this forum, but...

The virus was a trojan, MSIL exactly. It throwed me a lot of unwanted program installations etc.
But anyways, I decided I will go with a clean install.
Anyone who helped me, thanks. Problem solved.
For cleaning, I usually use CCleaner and yes, the disk is defragmented. I trimmed my startup list as soon as I installed Win10.
