I have two motile laptops and nearby sharing is only using bluetooth ;(. so slow. I don't know how to get it to use wifi ad hoc for much faster speed.
disabling BT will cause the computers not able to detect each other to initiate the nearby sharing.
This is so Fkin lame if MS implements nearby sharing only on BT. I know it can be done over...
If i set up both laptops to using the same local area network over wifi (ie just regular file transfer between laptops via local network), the speed basically max out at my equipment speed, around...

What speed is Nearby Share supposed to run? Both of my laptops have wifi card capable of at least 300mbps date transfer but it seems like Nearby Share is running at like 1-2 mbps. is it trying to...

will try to install that dell power saving thing although not sure if relevant to the t5500.... gone thr bios several times but don't see anything relevant yet
pretty deliberate on MS and intel 's action. the fact that this latest win 10 update doesn't support s3 sleep fully for x58 as well as lack of specific chipset driver from intel can only mean one...
looks like the end of westmere/Nehalem is approaching..... Tried gtx 950 and it still won't wake up. when I tried the same fx 1800 on 2011 v1 platform, it woke up fine with win 10 1709.

Seems like at least a few people also have problems with their computer not waking up from standby/S3 sleep after Fall Creator?
I did a clean install of 1709. Used the driver updated by MS...
Ok I figured out how to take out all the live tiles in start menu but uncheck and undock each one and then resize the start menu to take out all the space left that used to be occupied by the tiles....
Any way at all to have live tiles be on the desktop instead of in start menu? I don't undertand why MS tucked the live tiles into start menu? If they are afraid that it would interfere with desktop...
