This web page describes how SSDs work, and how to extend their operating life.
In summary, the operating life is...
The tips likely had to do with overclocking and SDD speed and other tweaks.
I started another thread: "Moving Windows Folders from SSD to HDD".
Thank you...it was fun.
The Recovery Partition was never there and I don't want it there. It may be wise to create it to the HDD...we'll see.
What do the tips do? What are they useful for?

Happy New Year to you too!
In fact, I checked the drives with GParted. There was only the SSD and it was all unallocated. I have imported the current Disk Mgr display. In any case. this did not go...

Created USB flash drive with installation files directly from MCT. BIG difference in behavior. Use THIS approach.
On target computer, enabled USB boot option. Rebooted, F9 to boot...
OK. I never saw the document you quoted from. Thanks,
The ONLY-F9 works. The short boot menu consists of UEFI - DVD boot, and UEFI - SSD boot. There are no Legacy options.
Now its clear that I was...
@ Megahertz
Well...I read and understood all your suggestions, but the problem, again, is that your system is different from mine and so the names, locations and features aren't always there. Here...

Just read the Relocate... document in the zip file. I did not follow that process, but I'll try it now from a clean state, and get back to you.
But the question remains. if...
I just did a fresh install of Win 10 on the 128 GB SDD. On the 500 GB HDD, I deleted and recreated a partition on the entire disk. Thereafter I checked the drives with the Win 10 Disk Manager. There...

As it happened, the 128 GB SSD's were used, abundant, and cheap. But I agree,...
If you don't know what a BL partition is then pls don't answer. Instead follow along to learn.
No. I won't be sending snapshots. Its like telling me you don't believe what I told you - yet again!
I searched and the solution may well be here: How to avoid BitLocker Partition on installation...
Well, I remind you that mine is a desktop with a 128 GB SSD as the system drive. But I see both sides of the issue. Thank you, all.
Yes. It was a clean install - deleted partitions, booted from the Windows ISO DVD.
BitLocker was NOT automatically enabled, but a BitLocker partition was created. I don't need BitLocker involved, I...
Please take better care with your reading. I just installed Win 10 on a clean drive and I was given no BitLocker option. I now have an encoded partition. And it took a great deal of time to find out.
I just did a clean install of the "current" Win 10 ISO. It was successful, but I never got to choose if I wanted BitLocker on or off. Can this be controlled for the next installation?
I know I can...
Just curious why change the profiles to the HDD? What is gained by that move?
OK. Great. Thank you.
I have a desktop with a large HDD and a 128GB SDD. I plan a full wipe on both drives, and a clean install on one of them. But, for fastest speed, which one should get the OS?
OK. That's all I needed to know. Thanks.
Quite right. I'm afraid that I might have to pay for a new license to download the Creation Tool and create a DVD with the current Windows 10 Pro ISO. Anyone know if that's correct?
Let me clarify: When I install Win 10 afresh, can I disable BitLocker?
I see no point in enabling BitLocker because the computer isn't going anywhere and I already have substantial protection. Is...
I have a desktop with a 500 GB hard drive that now has a boot partition and Win 10 Pro, and an SSD that has parts of an old Win 10 on it. I also have a Windows 10 installation disk that I used to get...
I have a desktop HP Elite 800. It came with Win 10 Pro installed on an HDD. I see from the Disk Management app that the C drive (500 GB) is BitLocker encoded. I have the following questions:
