Interesting..
Didn't know that, thank you for that tip.
So maybe keeping WinRE might be useful.
BTW, are there more ways to boot to it, in addition to [Shift]-Reboot?
Thank you Pentagon
Actually I do not worry becuase of the <1GB consumption.
My SSD is 0.5TB, so space is not a problem..
I just don't need MS's recovery mechanism,
I use a program similar...
Thank you all for the solutions.
BTW,
in the webpage that Pentagon gave,
did you guys see this sentence?
Hi Pentagon
Thank you very much for your reply.
Before performing the solution there,
I am curious to ask something:
Hi all
Generally, Windows Update works well on my WIndows 10,
and I frequently update.
Several weeks ago, I got a problem with KB5034441,
with Error 0x80070643.
Hi all
I would like to have an FTP Server program on my laptop.
Can anyone recommend one that is good, and trustable?
I prefer Portable programs,
but if there's a good one with installer,...
I am curious to ask:
What is the reason you compiled those .BAT scripts?
(it's not due to the Admin issue in this thread I assume, since you're OK with the complex script line/block mentioned above)
Doesn't your Antivirus scream when encounter an .EXE created by a BAT-to-EXE Converter of any kind?
C#, not C :)
Hi all
If I open Notepad, and create a small .BAT file,
and then try to Save it to C:\ or even D:\, it won't work.
I need to save it elsewhere, and then move it to C:\ or D:\,
and give Admin...
In the short run, yes,
but in the long run, this code piece is quite a complex command, quite hard to grasp and take control of.
At least to me..
So that's why I won't use it.
BTW..
Thank you all.
From the above solutions, the simplest path is to create an .EXE.
I will do it not via converting a .BAT, but instead, via recreating the script in C#, and compiling it to .EXE....
Hi all
I created a small .BAT script that runs CHKDSK/F on several partitions,
and when I run this script, I get "Access Denied", and "You need to run it as Admin"..
If I RightClick the .BAT...
Thank you for it.
Amazing how Microsoft agressively decide for its users.
Such a bad attitude by them.
You're on a Desktop and not a Laptop?
Interesting.
This tool can get more than the Maximum # of days that Windows 10 enables to postpone updates?
If yes, can you please tell me what the name...
Thank you
The timing of my question was good ;)
I'm glad I did not install the Preview one..
Thank you BLaZiNgSPEED
Yes I understand.
But I wonder to myself, didn't Microsoft already create some mechanism, to automatically prevent entering to Sleep Mode,
to programs doing critical...
Hi all
About a month ago, while doing a long Windows Update, surprisingly, my Windows10 entered Sleep Mode,
because I didn't touch my Laptop for a while, as defined in the Power Settings for...
I see.
So I will wait a fe days, and not install it..
Thank you very much.
Oh..
So my suspicion was right!
OK so I will wait.
BTW,
why am I offered an Update "for Windows 10 Version 21H1" when Windows About screen already shows 21H2?
Hi all
Yesterday, I ran Windows Update,
and installed several small updates, and also this Update:
"2021-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64 (KB5007186)"
All above...
How nice.
It's a really detailed report.. didn't know it exists..
It's useful to track the battery's health over time..
How cool, good for both work and for calling relatives abroad :)
Terrific!
Just what I wanted..
Thanks a lot
You're right..
Thank you so much :-)
Thank you very much Brink
The hover part is working well for me,
I now need to find a way to make the Percentage apear near the icon (for example, via another icon, that will show a number)..
So...
