Also, I just want to say that my hate for Windows is increasing, it forcefully gives feature people barely...
Got it, but I don't want online search. I only want to search for files, what can I do about that?
So if I disable "Hey Cortana", will it use less resources? I really want my system to be as light as possible. Of course, Linux is great for that but Windows is what I need.
Well, that really sucks. I was trying to debloat Windows and in return, I got a feature broken. I'll try doing an in place upgrade repair and check if that works
Okay, I reverted the tweaks and well.... nothing. I think I have messed up the Windows Search. Should I try upgrading to 20H2 to see if that helps?
Actually, yes. I have disabled Cortana and web results using the ShutUp10 app: O&O ShutUp10 -Free antispy tool for Windows 10

I'm really sorry I didn't mention it earlier...
Okay, I did that, I let the search indexing complete and everything worked in that user but when I switched back to my main user account, it didn't work anymore
How do I create a new user?
I have no idea when this problem started happening.
No, even the apps located in C:\Users\<user profile folder name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs are not being shown by the search too.
If I copy the VPN shortcut to that...
Okay, so I tried the simple test, I removed a shortcut from that location and the index number did actually decrease. And when I added the shortcut back, the index number increased again. Same goes...
I don't understand. I can see that the folder in which the shortcut is present in checked for indexing too. Do I need to index program files too?
The start menu location of Wondershare Filmora is actually indexed but it won't show 313277

So, why do I need to index program files if the shortcut is already present in...
Here you go, I manually rebuilt the index and can't find the Filmora app

Hahaha
Should I just reinstall Windows?
Hi there, sorry for the super late reply. I used tweaking.com's tool and it didn't fix my search issue. Also, happy new year!
Yes, it completed but did nothing
Okay, I'll try and let you know.
Here's what the detailed information shows: 311832
I tried rebuilding and resetting the index but it doesn't work.
Should I still try tweaking.com's repair tool?
I don't quite remember when it stopped working because I never really noticed it.
CHKDSK says there are no problems in both of my drives (C:, an SSD and D:, an HDD)
The indexer diagnostic app is...
The search shows old and uninstalled apps but not the newly installed apps, they are present in the start menu but don't come in search. I manually added the start menu folder AGAIN to the Windows...
Got it! Thank you.
Hey, the suffix is 610, the exact version is 19041.610
No, I'm not updating to 20H2, there's a separate button to update for that called "Feature update to 20H2" but I'm not doing it, I'm trying to download KB4586781 cumulative update.
