That's all fine and dandy, but they could've given it an actual name, not just a fancy new numbering :(
I still love Vista the best. So much eye candy, so much built-in awesomeness (that unfortunately, doesn't work anymore for the most part) and so much enjoyment in just using it! *sigh*
Why would they name it just "10"? I really, REALLY hoped they'd come up with something catchy, modern, USEFUL. I gotta watch the event, haven't had internet at work for a week now, I apparently...
Pretty much the way I've always done it. Never had a single problem with the install itself, even back in the old Longhorn days lol
Pretty much serves all my needs just as good as Sound Forge. I have yet to figure out some stuff, though, like snapping selections to markers and stuff. Too bad the official website has no tutorials...
The only thing that kind of bothers me, but not too much, is the look; the actual UI. It's clearly in progress and not nearly enough polished and ready, but I guess I can make do if it means getting...
:what:Why in the world would you need 100 or more programs installed.
It makes sense that when using the app on the PC, you get advanced features. Maybe like an app within the app that lets you do the advanced stuff without having to touch the already established...
I have used IE exclusively since IE9, usually having either Firefox or (since the overhaul) Opera as a secondary for those times when IE's TPLs cannot block the most annoying ads and popups.
And...
I saw this video and thought to myself:
YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
This is pretty much EXACTLY what I expected. Common stuff like cmd, charmap, resmon, notepad, calc and other legacy...
Yep. Once you get into it, it gets really easy :)
How about tweaking the new Start Menu so that the whole thing can be flipped around and show notifications there? Once you swipe them away, or X them with a mouse, it flips back to the new Start...
Something tells me we just might see lots of improvements to the Xbox Music app, especially in Threshold where, in fact, you can run the player in a window. It's high time they replace Windows Media...
For me, personally, I simply find any Linux extremely bothersome because even if I want to install a single program, I have to use the Terminal. I'm constantly either searching for tutorials on how...
You're missing the point here.
It's not about having the right copy of Windows for the right device, it's about having ONE version of Windows that runs on ALL devices. Completely different.
I did notice 8 being just slightly better in some games. In 7, my FPS would drop dramatically because when the GPU hits a certain temperature, the clocking drops and so do the frames. And I can't do...
But that's exactly what I'm saying: why not tweak the UI and show EXACTLY what it is before a user installs it, instead of offering a link to a webpage. Having all the info needed in one place, at...
SO! MUCH! HYPE!!!
I can't help myself but get hyped over the preview. Something tells me that, as long as it's as fast as 8 and stable enough, I'll keep it on my laptop for a long time :D
I was kinda hoping, even back before 8, that MS would adopt an actual naming scheme.
"Vista" was the perfect name for that largely hated version of the OS, and 7 wasn't bad either, because there...
In the past I would strongly agree with this:
Now that I work with people and around their computers much more, I've come to realize that in many cases this is only half truth. Most can...
Joan, I love you. You just gave me an idea about a gaming rant. I haven't done those in a while. Might post it over at SF as soon as today :D
I agree. 8 feels much faster than 7, which has become bogged down by so many updates. 8 starts faster, shuts down faster, to and from sleep faster... everything feels much snappier, and that's pretty...
I'm curious to see some research on that statement "7 is better than 8" for gaming. I used to play a few games on 7 that I still play on 8.1 now and I see no decrease in performance. Actually,...
Affordable PCs i.e. ancient dumpsters designed in the XP era. Probably xD
