Nothing has changed. Even when I switch the System Cooling toPassive it still runs.
Without opening it, yes. Pretty sure its not related to dirt. There is clearly something wrong with the profile/power settings somehow since it only runs when plugged in.
Three year old HP laptop, fan has always been noisy but this is new. I have tried everything I have found via Google to stop the fan but nothing is working. If I put the laptop on battery the fan...
Yep. Good thing I didn't tear apart my computer as some would suggest, when it wasn't my issue.
Yes and it says its removed or whatever, yet it keeps finding it again. I am running a full scan. I get the notifications while the scan is running too. Will fill in some details in a bit.
Like the title says. Every 10 to 20 minutes I get a notification that Defender found a threat. In the Security Center it sure seems like it is removed or whatever Defender does but it keeps coming...
So far I'm at 30 minutes on "Getting Windows Ready" Looks like another great month. I hate Windows.
An inplace upgrade to fix WU is ridiculous. There has to be a fix for the problem without reinstalling the OS.
Once again the monthly security update has failed multiple times via WU. And this is after I was able to easily install the enablement package to go to 21H2 a few weeks ago.
I just tried to manually install 21H2 using the enablement package. Just stalls. Every other computer installed it within minutes.
Beyond frustrated. Computer isn't even used but I turn it on a few times every month and the security updates fail every time. I have tried manually installing and they still fail. It's on 21H1. ...
Advice like this is why people's computers get screwed up. It's a lousy monthly update. It's obviously got issues.
Why do people feel the need to post this? The thread is about a problem,...
Mine failed too. It's MS at its finest (really worst). And btw I doubt those threads will give you any specific help. It's always the same generic suggestions when WU fails, with the consensus...
It's failing for me too. It's just the monthly update. I sure as heck am not going to reinstall Windows because of it.
Just realized that one computer hasn't even been offered this update yet. WU checked just now too.
So seven computers, two with problems installing this KB and one not even being offered the...
Two different computers
"Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x80070570)"
Trying to install manually errored out on one so...
edit: Even a manual install of the KB would not work on computer 4.
24 hours later and only three out of seven computers are updated. One continually errors out. So over this.
Connection is fine, high speed in fact. It's the updates that are messed. Every month.
At least someone posts a real world timeline. I'm not sure I believe when people are done in 10 minutes.
Another horrendous monthly update has begun.
Start with one computer, 90 minutes later its at 74%. Other computer hasn't moved from 0%.
Done with this.
Today I noticed one computer had not been updated to 21H1 and it did have the prompt to do so. Miraculously it worked. Along with all the other monthly updates on my six computers, after some...
Seriously? You needed to post this. My point was made. You finally get the current version installed and they "release" the next.
Yep, my error. I (re)installed the enablement package and all is good...but now they release 21H2.
Don't assume WU is "broken". I was offered 21H1 on all but two of my computers. Used the enablement package but had a problem with one computer later so sys restore put it back on 20H2 and again no...
And now of course one computer refuses to install this update. So tired of this.
edit: Manual install worked. Realized that after my system restore due to the last WU issue I am back to 20H2....
