just noticed this on a fresh install of 2004 yesterday.
Does anyone know how I can use Windows Performance Toolkit to solve my HDDs disconnecting?
I've got 3 different WD HDDs all with the same problem. They all disconnect themselves when reading data...
No....
Again, I am asking WHY the premade images did not ask for a key, whereas the ones I generate myself do? Did you in fact include a key in those ones?
See, at no point have I asked you for...
Omg
I'm not asking for a key!
Are you being difficult on purpose????
Well you have a very different definition of the word solved than the rest of the world does....
Images provided by yourself here where no key is required to be input by myself allow me to do...
What key is used in the one in the image at the start of this thread ? I would have assumed it would be the free one but I am able to do things in that one that I can't in the one I build myself.
It's the version of PA that the tool puts into the environment, whatever that is. I don't have a key for it. I didn't have a key for the version that worked in the images you provided at the start...
I reckon that is it then! Haven't had a chance to test on my other installation but if I was a betting man, I'd say it was Sandbox
A change in 2004 maybe to hide it ? I'll try enabling it in my installation on my other partition and see if it shows up
Might try that. good idea
I do, can you see it in Drive Management though?
Haven't set it up on this installation, that folder is empty. No vhdx in there :(
hmmm...my reserved storage is over 9gb and I can't see that portable base layer in drive management
I've got a mystery virtual disk and I have no idea what it is, where it is or where it came from.
I can see it in Device Manager, I can see it in Intel SSD toolbox, but there's nothing in Disk...
I've just built one of these to replace one of the premade ones as I needed to put my own drivers in but when trying to run AOMEI partiiton assistant to wipe a drive, it tells me that feature is only...
It's more about getting them to work inside the recovery environment, I've been muddling through using tab and the arrow keys which is less than ideal.
Wicked, I'll try that.
I'm trying to write a powershell script to look for a specific device driver and uninstall it.
I'm trying
$device = Get-WmiObject Win32_PnPSignedDriver | select DeviceName,InfName| where...
I currently have the following (Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk) on a USB which I plan to use if I ever need to restore my macrium backups. It does not work with my wlan or touchpad...
Ah I thought we used this to control that. Going to admit now I have no idea what the relationship between RST and optane memory is on my laptop.
I have always used the Optane Memory and Storage...
How would one go about enabling and disabling optane with just the driver?
i'm realising that now.
i was quite impressed initially when they offered me a brand new top of the range spectre as a replacement for my 3 year one they couldn't fix.
when that didn't live up...
Craps out with 10.0.18362.21317 too. No idea why I can't make it install 10.0.18362.29098 like you have, unless it knows and then falls back to that one?
I don't have those PCIe options in my...
Yep, 10.0.18362.21321 is what HP provide on their site and what windows update offers.
10.0.16299.21305 is what is on the realtek site.
I might give that one a go then and see what happens. I...
I have that folder but it's only stuff I've downloaded from HP myself.
It's a WD MyPassport Ultra
I have two C's on the right and it happens with both
Nope, only this connected but sometimes...
I can't see anything like that at all in disk management

1909 with 18362.693 clean install works fine (driver date 20/02/2020 which is weird)
2004 with 19041.1 clean...
Thanks, I'd definitely appreciate any thoughts you might have
