Win10 Ver22H2. Used to be located in Windows SDK folders, used for signing drivers. Couldn't find inf2cat.exe anywhere in the installed SDK or WDK folders. Anyone know what happened to it?
Win 10pro V2004. Upgraded from 7 to 10 a few months back. Had a couple BSODs in November and now one today, Critical Structure Corruption. IIRC the 2 in Nov were similar errors. V2 log attached.
There is a 4yr thread on Nvidia forum about Geforce Experience and/or the Nvidia display container service preventing proper windows sleep function. The same Nvidia Control Panel version, and...
Still working on this bug. None of the powercfg wake commands reveal anything...do these only apply to the computer sleep function? I tried the powercfg /energy command as it provides an elaborate...
PC seems to be working fine w/o the Nvidia display container service. I've got this issue posted in the nvidia forums, but I'm sure the nvidia support crew won't much like my modified inf drivers. ...
Ordinarily that would be excellent advice. In my case, I'm running a Dell M6800 laptop, decent pc but hampered by fairly mediocre GPU. Replaced the GPU with a Geforce 980M. To use current Nvidia...
Traced it to the "Nvidia Display Container LS" service, that is, when enabled the problem returns. Not a biggie, except when disabled I lose access to the Nvidia Control Panel which is useful for...
Just to update: free win10 conversion still working as of May, did mine a few days ago from win7pro. Only one glitch so far, display sleep didn't work. A clean win10 reboot did the trick.
Clean boot worked, THX! Don't know why I didn't think of that... Took the opportunity to cleanup some services since I was in msconfig anyway.
Yes, occurred right after win10 convert. Display sleep worked fine in win7. I did the power savings reset, no change, but thx for suggestion. Something subtle going on, doesn't show up on powercfg...
Usual intel/windows stuff, plus eset. MS onedrive snuck in there, so I disabled that. Would seem to be something related to win10, because sleep worked perfect in win7 with same startup stuff.
Tried the link suggestions, thx. No go. Display still wakes up a few seconds after sleep initiated.
Recent convert from win7pro to win10pro (v1909). Sleep settings in win7 were 30min for monitor and never for PC. Worked fine for yrs. Monitor now wakes up spontaneously about 10sec after sleep. ...
