After many more months of testing QTTabBar, I must say that it works great and does not cause any problems in Windows, except I cannot create folders on my Android phone via USB connection (not a big...
I updated this tutorial on May 7. Haven't had a freeze for 6 months and BSOD for two months. BSODs happen only if I install some incompatible software.

Oops, didn't see your latest post. How did you see the driver problems in event logs? Did the NVidia driver crash each time before the computer froze?
You can download my updated tutorial, which includes detailed instructions on how to investigate lock-up events and blue screen events:

I tested QTTabBar for about a week. It works OK and does not destabilize Windows. It does not destabilize File Exporer either except File Explorer cannot browse my Android Phone (via USB connection)...
I explained the various solutions to freezing (from my earlier post) in an illustrated ebook, available for free here.
Thanks for letting me know. I am now testing QTTabBar.

Probably not, but I don't use the Event Viewer unless I get a freeze or BSOD event. For the past week I got the following errors, but I am going to ignore them:
The shadow copies of volume C: were...
I am dumbfounded. My event viewer works fine. I am at a loss as to why this problem occurs on some computers but not others. If I think of something else I will let you know.
P.S. For what it's...
I have used Advanced SystemCare without any problems so far, but thanks for the headsup.
Perhaps your installation medium is damaged (like a scratched DVD) and the system file check cannot detect the damaged file for some reason? Did you try configuring the permissions as described below...
Why don't you try freeware such as Advanced SystemCare, System Mechanic Free, or Glary Utilities? They all contain registry checkers.
Did you try the system file check?
Launch Windows Command Prompt as admin and type this command:
sfc /scannow
My advice is to use the above freeware packages to be certain. They often find fully tested certified drivers that are not yet posted on the official websites. This often happens to Intel and RealTek...
When you say "all drivers are up-to-date" do you mean that Windows 10 tells you that there are no new drivers (in driver properties)? Try freeware Driver Booster and DriverMax, they will find TONS of...
OK, guys, my two cents about freezes (all possible checks are listed below). My Windows 10 has been running smoothly, but freezes sometimes when I run Vuze. Unistalled vuze and replaced with...
No Unfortunately, I could not find anything simple. As mentioned in my post, WindowBlinds and Xplorer2 allow you to use various colors in windows explorer, but they are buggy and I do not recommend...

I am sorry, my mistake. In reality, the command powercfg /devicequery wake_from_any shows all devices that are in general capable of waking the computer (regardless of their current wakeup...
mikebzh44,
I don't know why the powershell script doesn't work in your Windows. It worked fine for me (Windows 10, Russian, 64-bit) and disabled all tasks in Task Scheduler that wake up the...
This problem requires several steps.
First, edit your BIOS settings (before windows boots). Go to advanced power management options (the name may be different for your motherboard) and disable...
UPDATE: The method below works in general, but the windows theme reverts to the high-contrast theme if you launch Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) or initiate the sleep/standby mode. Perhaps, someone can...
