I am going to edit this post later. I am away from the computer in question for some days.
When the problems started I had a GTX 2080 Super installed. As I replaced parts I ended up with the GTX 780(I am only playing Civ5 for games).
From the link "Reddit - Dive into anything":
Core Voltage (Auto) sets at 1.449V
In Ryzen Master the core voltage in my system defaulted to 1.3875V with a BIOS limit at 1.55V.
I adjusted...
Some updates and a red icon with the message "Windows was not properly shut down". The index itself around 8 today from a 2 twenty days ago.
Seems like a very useful tool.
Yes, with AMD Ryzen Master set to 3000 MHz instead of the default 3400 MHz it is stable. But the PC is then 30% slower than it used to be for my applications.
I am also looking into a new...
I have reset CMOS and loaded default settings in BIOS. Same results. I am pretty sure there is no overclocking.
It froze again at 3200. Not immediately, but after some hours.
Thank for the help. At 3200 the OCCT stress test reaches 58C and the program I am running uses 70 seconds.
I will leave it on over night.
When I originally put the system together there were pre applied thermal paste on the heat sink. When this started I ran prime95 and OCCT temperatures ended up around 80C. I have replaced the cooler...
I just tested with a program I am using. A run that takes 54 seconds with no use of Ryzen master takes 77 seconds with the 3000 setting.
CPU usage around 80% for that time.
My system (system specs are up to date as well):
Windows 10 22H2 (Build 19045.3693)
Ryzen 9 5950X
Gigabyte X570 Gaming X, BIOS F38f, Sep 21, 2023 (latest as of today)
(All other parts...
Yes! Worked for me. Thank you! I will add it to the scripts I run after updates.
Also, for the record: Of the three winten PC's I updated, one got hit with the "grouping" problem.
Using the "Save As" dialog in "Downloads" showed grouping again for me. Right click in an empty section gave me the (none) option. It still works after a reboot.
I used the words from ineuw's...
You are correct, the "Downloads" folder is different. And following your recipe it applies to all folders, except the "Downloads" folder when accessed from "Quick access" or "This PC".
I have...
I got this problem a couple of days after the latest win10 update.
The folder view were grouped by date from the update and the (None) option were missing. Following your statement I were able...
I replaced the drive after MrPepka's last post. I used a system image created from the old win7 backup&restore. And for the first time in my life I read the manual for the disk. Firmware updated.
...
Another BSOD.
But first, the AMD drivers and Kingston tools suggested by MrPepka improved the general feel of the PC drastically. In particular opening small text files is much faster.
This is...
Thanks!
Firmware for SSD updated to SBFKB1C3
AMD Chipset Drivers to 2.01.15.2138 (1/16/2020)
The chipset drivers on the page you referenced are newer than the one I found on the Asus ROG...
But no, a SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION this time. But the BSOD feels the same, one window stops responding, then gradually others. I managed to close a couple of windows before the crash.
I also...
I will leave it at automatic. I am just not to good expressing myself. I were just explaining why I messed with the setting in the first place.
PC still running without problems.
What happened: After I got the BSOD I found that the virtual memory were set to "1000Mb, recommended 2400 Mb". So I set it to 16Gb.
If there are no more...
Virtual memory set to automatic.
One of the things I did in my tries to get rid of the BSOD were to set the virtual memory to the amount of RAM, 16GB. I have saved the file, but it is difficult to share right now. I will reset...
I used this computer a couple of years with ubuntu. I do not think it crashed once.
I then installed windows 10 pro to a new SSD and the problems started.
BSOD are sporadic, sometimes days...
