This may just be me but anytime I get a hold of a used machine the very first thing I do is unpartition, repartition, reload OS, set up and tweak. Zero other way of fully knowing that is 100% under...

In my experience...it will work 99% of them time as long as the units are exact.

It should if it is the exact same unit. Take it to a local tech....open it up....I have seen dozens of them survive spills.
