We need help with this now in the year 2022. Years ago I remember dealing with this and maybe it was a flag in chrome, IDK. we use Edge now. Are you certain this...
Yeah, we tend to agree that it's harmless. For now we are just going to try only using the taskbar volume control and the media player's volume. We may get used to not even using the keyboard volume.
Thanks; we may go ahead and live with the taskbar icon. The larger issue now is this:
Defender blocked us and we downloaded it anyway and after scanning the Ver.1.3 .exe using Virus Total, a...

Sadly, you are absolutely correct Sir; thanks for putting it in perspective.
Even though we waited too long and ended up paying for the OS, we do seem to forget that we paid for that user agreement...
Microsoft gives us an entire store chock full of all manner of fabulous Apps that we are free to select from. This 'News and Interest' should/could be made available, if not already, in the store. ...
Megahertz said it best; that member said, "One more of those Apps that you don't need, didn't ask for, didn't install and now you have to waste your time neutralizing it."
To that remark we say...
Good Idea; will do. Thanks

Turning it off was easy but We need to know how to completely UNINSTALL the app entirely; not interested in only disabling it. Please link to How to Uninstall News and Interest app. Thank you

Looks like. Even with the damned thing turned off and out of sight, we're hoping that it's not collecting our data in the background.
That does seem to be the case, damn it all
bc we will not be needing nor using it.
