Let's just say I like my Windows as 'classic' as possible.
Sorry, I don't have a solution to this, but I am interested in finding out whether it is possible. I'd love to replace them with this dialog as well. Dont know if you know, but there's actually two...
Reshacked is just a shorthand for "I edited it in Resource Hacker". Modifications I did were merely removing problematic features from the dialog that could can cause issues with W10, namely the...
I originally edited that CPL applet because the OP of the thread wanted the W7 Appearance dialog back. The original applet I reshacked had more options, so if anyone wants, here it is, with some...
shell32.dll is protected by the system, so you couldn't change that if you wanted to, unless you wanted to brick your system.
The only dll you can safely edit is imageres.dll, which there are two...
This is actually quite nice to see, thank you. So you can edit Fonts still with it (I use Classic theme exclusively). IDK why Microsoft keep removing useful stuff and burying it in the registry -...
Windows 10 removed a lot of customization features. Sadly, you'd need to patch your system and edit the theme file to get what you want regarding the colour. Font can be changed without patching, but...
All the "Item" options should still be valid even on W10. Fonts, yeah, that's pointless now as MS made it mandatory the system font practically impossible to change unless you use system font...

Thank you to the both of you. Both of your links gave me great insight into how this sub-menu works, so much so that I've been able to isolate the reg key that governs it:

Is there a way to sort the order? Other methods don't seem to work with this sub-menu.
Any help or advice...
Yeah, they removed the reg tweak in build 1809. Old "classic" menus can no longer be enabled that way anymore. There is another way to get them back, but the patch is in a very early state:Releases ....
I use programs that date back to the late 90s; you'd be surprised at how good W10's backwards compatibility is. To cut a long story short: D Color works on W10.
You're leaving D Color/Iconoid...
Check out D Color XP; I found that to be vastly better than Iconoid: Download D-Color XP 1.2
Thank you dalchina, I greatly appreciate it.

I'll be completely honest; yeah, I should've looked in that section, but I was going by an old tuturial and assumed that was the only way to do it. Thanks again for your help.

Adding the DWORD "HubMode" and setting it to 1 removed Quick Access.
Thank you so much, this was driving me nutty. You've made my morning!

The Save/Open Dialog I posted above was from Seamonkey, which is a fork of Firefox. I've no idea there's multiple versions of these dialog, but here is the one from Windows Media Player which shows...

Hi I'm wondering if someone can help me. I'm trying to remove Quick Access from the Open/Save dialog boxes and I'm stumped. I've removed Quick Access...
