The same long startups have reoccurred. I tried the same scans to no avail. The weird thing is I started having the same 2x W7 bootup screen posted above. It's a 2tb internal sata...
It's still unclear what is causing these errors. It should be noted other full drives much older have no issues. The only common theme is the process of unplugging the drive from the Oppo BD player...
Yeah it's ironic that I'm old enough and have the money for decent audio gear my hearing is shot.
Marie that sound like a kickin sound system in the car. In my younger days I had a good system in the car. A word to the wise be careful with the volume. I have hearing loss and tinnitus now. I'm...
Thanks Marie,
I'm just going to reformat the drive and copy all the data back on.
I never struck out on this forum before.
So there are no better options than reformatting the drive and recopying the data?
I have two 8tb My book drives one as a backup of the other. I use for BD rips. I play from a Oppo 203 UHD player. First one then both would not be detected by the player but both worked fine when I...
Thanks I had done that prior. All the scans you suggested have fixed my issue it seems. It seems to boot fine now. so I'm going to mark this as solved.
I'm running chkdsk now say it repairing errors might take over an hour to complete.
I will not be able to watch it hopefully when it lists the errors I be able to take a screenshot or photo.

I still have not figured out what is wrong here. Perhaps initially something inadvertently got switched in the bios, I have not entered the bios for years prior to this issue. So it wasn't caused by...
You may be on to something. I may have inadvertently switched a network as #2 in boot order but I'm not sure. I booted again and didn't get the message.
It still doesn't change why boot times are...
Yes
Today I plugged the 2tb sata hard disk in and it did boot. It took at least 5 minutes to get to a desktop screen. I'm sure that time once was less than a minute.

The C and E drives are the 1tb SSD. The other is a sata drive. Later I will take some pictures of the errors that are present during the boot.
I have a I7 W10 desktop I only use for music recording and processing. This weekend it would not boot. It prompted me to boot 2 W7 installations but W7 has never been installed on this machine.

Hard disk sentinel
How do I completely remove this program? Ever since I installed it now I takes 30-60 seconds to open my computer. The green progress bar always has to run it's course. I uninstalled it years ago not...
Thanks everybody for your helpful posts. I copied the files back onto the drive and low and behold the drive is bad. So everything was recovered from backups. Going forward I'm going to make clone...
Thanks Christophe,
Yes I always try to do that when using a computer. When you are using the drive(s) in a BD player I generally power off the player then after it has completely turned off I...
Thanks for your help. Yes it was very comforting when I verified that I did have all the files. On your advice I will get Hard Disk Sentinel and do as you say and check them periodically. I need to...
For what its worth I was able to recover 100% of the lost files from backups. I bought a new 4tb drive and I'm coping the files onto it. When I'm done I'll format the drive that failed and copy the...
I think the file structure got messed up somehow and the files are still there. I don't recall the specific errors. It was plugged into an Oppo bdp 105d.
Now after w10 scanned and fixed the files...
I have a USB drive with media on it and it was acting flaky so I connected it to a w10 computer and it prompted me to run a scan and fix errors. That took most of the night. This morning the drive is...
I need to update the bios. I'm updating it as I type.

Didn't work. When I saw a Jan 15 2020 bios update I thought for sure that was my issue.
I just looked in the bios and under security there is just
