My pleasure.
Good luck.
My battery died some time after my last post. Not sure how long after. Still using just a power cord.
I guess i can get an estimate but it appears labor is on average $65 an hour which is already nearly a quarter of a new, better laptop. And as this one ages I'm potentially looking at more problems.
I don't think I'll see much by opening the case and even if I do I don't have the tools.
I guess I may have to get a new laptop. Any recommendations, specs? The heaviest stuff I do is watch videos...
Just squeezed, turned, jostled the adapter's input and cord and the power's still on.
I know the socket's not the issue for 2 reasons: it works for other appliances and I had the same issue with...
Not sure where this topic goes so came here.
My laptop loses power with any lifting or tilting movement. It doesn't have a battery.
Unsure of its age, but it must be at least 5 years old.

Thanks for the info. Very strange.
There's usually no problem when I send email from my gmail account to aol recipients. However, I've seen huge delivery delays of over an hour at times lately and I've seen this before occasionally....
Yes, but for weeks my battery was suck at 87% or so with an orange battery light so I'm wondering how it's now fully charged or at least is telling me so.
Thanks.
I just noticed that my task bar battery icon says "fully charged 100%"
Anyone have an idea about this?!
Thanks. I did check the battery the way you suggested in post 10 but didn't really understand the results.
So I never got around to removing the battery but the battery light changed from orange to green a little while ago. The task bar battery window appears stuck at 2 min to charge and 97%. Any ideas...
Thanks to you both.
What falls under generic? I'm clueless about battery brands.
Anyone have an estimate for how long it'll take for my battery to drain out in hibernation if it's set to move to that mode at 1% battery level?
Calibrated the battery and the charge is stuck at...
LOL Thanks for the encouragement! :chuckle:
Thanks. I look for the same things though not with your level of specificity.
The manual says blinking orange means the laptop is running on battery mode and the battery is less than 10%.
I shut it down, pulled out the cord, then tried to hold the power button for 10...
May have to replace my battery. Seen them on Ebay and Amazon but was wondering how to gauge what's a smart/safe buy beyond the ratings and warranty as many seem similar in that regard.
Thanks
My battery light is flashing orange (it's been that color) now. Will search about it but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
You may want to edit your link as it brings up a page not found. Removing the the "l" from "laptopsl" will correct the problem
thanks
I assume a laptop can operate without a battery as long as it remains plugged in and should be shutdown should you need to unplug it?
thanks
Can that damage any hardware? I think I read somewhere it can be a problem but can't find where.
ASUS, 1909
Battery icon was sitting at 88% for hours. By pulling and reinserting the power cord the percentage will sometimes move up 1% and now sits at 93%. The battery light is orange.
