Honestly, if anyone is plugging their internet feed directly into their computer, they deserve malware and viruses. If you use a router and have a "DMZ" setting which routes all undefined traffic...
Now, if only there was a common cure for the screen saver delay being reset to 1 minute. That seems to be another area of issue.
I think the "comms open" is exactly the issue with joysticks...
You have been reading this entire thread. Right? You might have left the "hardware not compatible" comment out of your statement, if you had. Besides, if it was a hardware compatibility issue, the...
Not helpful. Insulting, even. Please keep your personal opinions (which are actually quite wrong) to yourself. The rest of us are being helpful with this known issue (among many others) in the rushed...
I have adjustable dead zones for all analog controls for the X45, but the system still sees the values change. I fear that Microsoft simply decided that joysticks and game controllers were included...
I assumed it was something like EFI vs BIOS (I am on an OLD platform, as far as technology goes). Just saying that the option you mentioned may not exist for all, since it wasn't available for me.

And again, it only lists "Sleep" and "Lock". There are NO additional options listed when I click that "Change settings that are currently unavailable" link.

This might sound stupid, too. Not all systems have all of those options under "Shutdown Settings". For me, I only get "Sleep" and "Lock" options. Not even "Hibernate" is listed.
I assume the mic doesn't have an "on/off" switch. If it does, try turning it off. I do have a webcam (with mic) attached without an issue, though. I was afraid it might pic up the noise in this...
Actually, that sort of makes sense. Windows has, for quite some time, come with important registry settings that we don't have direct access to control (even the key name is cryptic), but turning off...
This is only a guess, but I think the joystick (or game controller) issue only happens if the controller has analog controls which fluctuate. Most controllers seem to rely on potentiometers, but I...
That would be rather sad, actually. The newer X45 is a self-calibration unit while mine is the software calibrated version. As in, it's older and less likely to get a driver update. Been there. Done...
Went out to eat, followed by a trip to the grocery store, came back home and screen saver had gone active and LCDs were in stand-by mode. So, without touching the mouse or keyboard, I made certain...
Some, like myself, don't want to press Win-L to lock the system from external use. So, many will have a screen saver, most will have something pretty, just to have the password prompt. It will keep...
So, is this USB issue limited to joysticks, or will other devices be seen as system activity? USB webcam/microphone presence seems to be ignored. What about printers and scanners?
Still not having...
I'm freaked to report that 1 of 2 things fixed the screen saver and power management of the displays for me.
1) I uninstalled my Saitek X45 joystick (not just unplugged, but uninstalled the...
I'm just another Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 Pro upgrade with no screen saver activation or power management of the LCDs (1920x1080 and 1680x1050). None of the posted fixes have worked for me,...
