sorry for VERY late reply, but I ran into the problem again, so I just migrated all my files to a new account and deleted the old one

So if you are wondering about my past issues, I got them patched up, but I wanted to turn win defender off for sometime, but this happened.

I could successfully delete the key and now my desktop reappeared thanks a ton for the help

yes I do have another account it works fine the start button also works

Not saying much the explorer option works but has to be redone every boot

can someone help for this issue I am very happy various people are aiding me on my desktop but I can also use the start button too.

oh and now I remember before getting some of the shortcuts my PC used to say desktop not found in system 32. (If that helps you guys)

I don't have any antivirus I used the explorer method. but I don't have to edit the registry the explorer method brings my desktop back

yes It does work but I have to redo it every time the pc boots though.
