It is not that they fail. They just disappear. There are a variety of circumstances under whish that can happen. I don't have a complete list though.
That is true if the restore point works. Half of the time they don't.
You have to know what happened 2 days ago that could have triggerd that restore point. And if you want to rely on the restore points, you will have to accept the impomderable elements of that path.

But with that logic you will never buy anything. Even the bread you buy is most likely from yesterday or even older - unless you live in France and have a bakery around the corner.
I would not be amazed if all the SSDs came from the same factories like the HDDs do.
Do you habe any statistical proof for your state,memts - else they are just throw-away comments. I have very good experience with Sandisk including their SSDs.

What for - detecting a virus after it has damaged your system makes little sense. And the virus scanner may remove the virus but not repair your system.

Try CTL+P which will print it. You can direct that to the desktop.
With Macrium as suggested by Navy you will be OK. Forget the Windows imaging. It never seems to work.

Restore points are volatile and can disappear for a number of reasons. It is safer to work with images.

If you have a recovery partition, you could reset your PC. But make sure you first save your files - e.g. with a live Linux CD or something like this:
